Meet Angus

My name is Angus McGhee and I was created in 2000 by this big dufus from the states. He is a little slow, but he's a really nice guy just the same. I have to feel sorry for the guy, really. Like I said, he is American.

Anyway, this is about me, not him. I, Angus McGhee, am from the Highlands along the Strath Navar River in Scotland and am part of the Mackay Clan. I have two loving parents and an older brother, Richard, who left the farm (and home) right after high school. He moved to the states and sells paper supplies for a living. While he has made a name for himself, he is still the same Dick I grew up with (he is very sensitive about being called Dick). I mean, come on, he left Scotland by choice. And yet they say I'm the dumb one.

My father's name is David and he is the rock of our community. All the other farmers look to him for advice. I strive to impress him, but always fall short. My mama, Mildred, is the love of my father's life and mine as well. She is, without a doubt, the greatest woman I've ever met. She takes care of all of us. And although she doesn't always get a joke, she laughs right along with us.

After years of talking about it, I have just moved out of my parent's house. I still work on their farm, but I figured at my age, it is time to have a place of my own. I am struggling to make a life for myself. I am not the smartest man in the world, but I have a big heart and I would do anything for my family or my beloved country. What I lack in brains, I make up for with brawn. When some muscle is needed, I'm the man for the job.

At the moment, I live alone. I am not opposed to getting married, as long as she doesn't interfere with my relationship with my mama, or my bagpipes, or Rugby on Sunday, or my quest for the best single-malt Scotch ever created? Well, maybe I need to rethink the marriage thing.

I feel I am an accomplished piper, but the members of my band seem to think otherwise. I have been piping for years, but somehow I keep ending up in the novice division. I am proud of the fact that I am also not afraid to try new things. I've been known to toss a caber or two, even won a few medals for it, and now I am learning to golf. Despite my best attempts, I seem to land myself in awkward situations. I think people are laughing with me, but I am told they are often laughing near me not at me. I'm not sure what that means, but that's what they tell me.

What's next for me? Well, my dream is to be a fireman, but right now, my folks need me on the farm. I guess we will all have to wait and see what that big dufus with the pencil has planned. I get the impression that he is vicariously living through me.

If you wanna learn about the guy with the pencil, then click here. If not, I don't blame you, he's kinda boring.
